Humane Society Silicon Valley’s work extends from its Milpitas base to community services in San Jose. A fixed clinic alongside mobile outreach
In August 2025, HSSV announced its Community Pet Clinic, adding a regular indoor setting to its existing mobile clinics and outreach. The clinic offers cat sterilisation and Essential Care for common illnesses and injuries in cats and dogs. Its San Jose address, 3463 McKee Road, is distinct from the organisation’s 901 Ames Avenue base in Milpitas.
What Essential Care can handle
Essential Care is designed for families struggling to afford veterinary treatment. Appointments begin with an examination and can include basic diagnostics, treatment and medication for selected common problems, such as minor wounds or ear and skin issues. The service does not provide emergency or overnight care, advanced diagnostics, orthopaedic or oral surgery, or ongoing treatment for chronic conditions.
Nala and Bear show how services connect
A September 2024 story follows two dogs attending a Wellness Waggin’ clinic at Capitol Park in San Jose. Their guardian, whose name was changed in the published account, was experiencing homelessness. Alongside veterinary visits, the family received food and basic supplies from the Pet Pantry. The example shows how food assistance and medical care can support the same household.
