We make animal protection work visible.
Independent rescuers, NGOs, shelters, and animal-protection projects do work that many people discover only by chance. Sometimes the only lead is a social media account, an old group message, or a recommendation from someone nearby.
AnimalProtech exists to make that search easier. We bring together public information about these initiatives and show where they work, what they do, and how to find them. People who want to help get a place to start. People already doing the work gain another way to be found.
Why this matters
Wanting to help does not always come with a clear next step. Someone may be ready to donate food, offer transportation, share a fundraiser, or learn about nearby projects without knowing where to begin.
Social media searches do not always solve the problem. Results depend on knowing the right name, on how widely a post travels, and on accounts that may move or stop being updated. Smaller initiatives can be difficult to find even when their work matters greatly to the local community.
The map organizes the search by location. Instead of relying on a chance recommendation, people can explore a city or region and see the initiatives already mapped there.
It also makes missing information visible. An empty area does not mean that no animal-protection work happens there. It often means that we have not yet found or received enough public information to publish a profile.
What you can find on AnimalProtech
Each profile brings together the public information available about an initiative: its location, type of work, description, and contact channels.
Those profiles represent very different realities. Some belong to established organizations; others belong to independent rescuers, community groups, shelters, or local projects. The map does not force them into a single model. It provides enough context for visitors to understand whom they have found and continue the conversation directly with the person responsible.
People can also search by country, state, and city and view general data about how listed initiatives are distributed. That helps both someone looking nearby and someone trying to understand the broader network.
How the map stays current
Information may come from public sources or suggestions sent by the community. Before publishing a profile, we need enough information to identify the initiative, understand its work, and provide at least one public way to contact it.
Things can change after publication. A project may move, change its name, open a new channel, or stop operating. Anyone can suggest a correction, add useful details, or ask us to review information that appears outdated.
We do not treat the map as a finished catalog. It has to keep pace with a network that changes every day.
Who maintains the project
AnimalProtech is maintained by a small team responsible for developing the platform, organizing public content, and reviewing community contributions.
Some of that work happens in the code: keeping the map running, improving search, securing administrative areas, and making the content work across devices and languages.
The rest happens in the information itself. We review suggestions, correct profiles, avoid publishing personal data, and record meaningful changes.
The size of the team also sets our pace. We cannot map every city at once or resolve every request immediately. We would rather be clear that the directory is still growing than claim coverage we do not have.
Our role
AnimalProtech does not perform rescues, collect donations for listed profiles, arrange adoptions, or operate as an emergency service.
The map helps people find initiatives. The work with animals is still done by rescuers, volunteers, organizations, professionals, and local communities.
A listing is not a seal of approval. Publishing public information about an initiative does not guarantee its identity, legal status, current activity, or accountability.
Before donating money or supplies, sharing documents, arranging a visit, or moving forward with an adoption, speak directly with the person responsible and confirm their official channels.
Where we are going
Animal protection does not stop at a city or national border. AnimalProtech is built to organize initiatives from different regions and present its content in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
We want the map to grow without reducing progress to a profile count. A larger directory is useful only when its information remains organized, understandable, and open to correction.
Our direction is straightforward: when someone looks for animal-protection work in a region, we want there to be a clear place to begin.
How to take part
Explore the map and learn about initiatives in your area. If something is incorrect, send a correction. If a project is missing, suggest that we add it.
AnimalProtech grows when more people help find and organize the work already happening beyond the platform.
