What is AnimalProtech? Meet our projects
Find an animal rescue near you or give your own work a place people can find. Here's how the AnimalProtech map, AnimalProtech Bio and our animal-protection content fit together.
AnimalProtech is a technology project focused on animal protection. We build digital tools that help people find animal rescuers, shelters and organizations, and help those doing the work share it with others.
Our two projects serve different purposes. Animalprotech.org is home to our public map and directory. AnimalProtech Bio lets people create a page bringing together information and links about their work for animals.
Why we built AnimalProtech
You might be willing to donate pet food, offer transport or volunteer, yet not know who needs help nearby. A rescuer in the same area might be looking for exactly that support without knowing how to reach you.
Much of this information is scattered across social media posts, group messages and individual accounts. We want to make it easier to find: a starting point for someone looking for a local initiative, and practical tools for people who need to share their work.
The map: find animal rescues and shelters
The AnimalProtech map brings together profiles of independent rescuers, shelters, NGOs and other animal-protection initiatives. You can explore locations or use search filters to look by country, state and city.
Profiles contain available public information, such as a description of the work, location and contact channels. Once you find an initiative, contact the people responsible directly to ask about their activities or current needs.
The directory is still being built. An area with no profiles is not necessarily an area with no animal-protection work. It may simply be somewhere we do not yet have enough information to publish a listing.
AnimalProtech Bio: share your work through one link
AnimalProtech Bio helps rescuers, shelters, organizations and veterinary teams put the information they want to share on one page. That can include animals available for adoption, fundraising campaigns, volunteer opportunities and contact links.
Share the address in your social media bio, send it in a message or use a QR code. When something changes, update the page without replacing the link you have already shared. Creating and using a page is free, public pages have no ads, and some features have usage limits.
The distinction is straightforward: the map helps people discover initiatives by location; Bio helps each person or organization present their own work.
Directory data and articles about animals
Our data page shows how the listed initiatives are distributed. Its figures describe the AnimalProtech directory, not every animal-protection activity in a region.
The AnimalProtech blog covers animal protection, animal care and animal curiosities. We publish in English, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish, with references so readers can explore the sources behind each article.
How to get involved
Explore the map, find a nearby initiative and ask what help it needs. You can also suggest an organization or send a correction. If you already work with animals, you can create a Bio page to share your information.
AnimalProtech does not carry out rescues, collect donations for listed profiles or arrange adoptions. A directory listing is not an endorsement. Check an initiative's official channels before donating or arranging a visit. For emergencies, contact the appropriate local services.
